Calling all good neighbors!  With a newly-enforced snow ordinance helping to keep our sidewalks safe, it’s important to remember that some folks simply can’t go outside and shovel snow.  Whether because of age or ability, no neighbor of ours should have to pay a fine or unnecessarily risk hurting themselves.  That’s where the Snow Angels come in – sign up below, and we’ll connect you with other good neighbors in your area who want to make sure nobody gets left behind next winter. While it was nice to hope that a giant benevolent corporation would sink a billion dollars into our region for advanced and experimental telecommunications infrastructure, it’s time to get a little more realistic about how we give ourselves a competitive advantage in our information infrastructure.
To that end, the Greater Lansing Quick Response Team is re-convening, this time under a new moniker, to pick up where we left off. We’re pulling the …

re-Knew Knapp’s

Some knew it as a department store, others knew it as an office.  But coming soon, a new generation will have the chance to know Knapp’s as a part of the Lansing experience.
For too many years this building has stood vacant in the middle of our downtown.  This completely unique, forward-looking building from the 1930s was yet another ghost of our past… a testament to what was, a reminder of what is.  Less than a block from our state’s capitol, this building is critical to the future of our downtown. …

Ever play with the 3D building feature in GoogleEarth? Some places have taken a complete inventory of their downtowns, giving a great virtual representation of their world. Lansing has some incredible historic buildings, but the only one we have in GoogleEarth is the Capitol! Unacceptable… We’re looking to get some photographers, SketchUp hacks, and anyone else with 3D modeling experience to spend a day or two this summer building Lansing in 3D.
